How do I add or remove a feature?
To add or cancel a feature, simply contact customer service.

How long does it take to remove the feature?
Typically, most changes can be completed within 3-5 business days - but sometimes can take longer to complete.

Is there an additional charge for voicemail?
Voicemail can be added for as little as $3.00 per month.

What features are included with the service?
The United Regional Plus Plan may include your selection of 900 Call Blocking, Customized Call Restriction, Anonymous Call Reject, Auto Redial, Automatic Callback, Call Forwarding, Call Block, Call Block Denial, Call Hold, Call Return, Call Trace, Call Trace Denial, Call Waiting, Caller ID, Calling Name Display, Custom Toll Restriction, Distinctive Ring, Priority Call, Priority Ringing, Privacy Manager, Remote Call Forwarding, Repeat Dialing, Return Call Block, RingMaster, Speed Calling / Speed Dialing, and Three Way Calling.

Is the Members' Area secure?
Yes, the Talk America Members' Area is secured using SSL technology. You will not see the little lock on the bottom of the browser because the Talk America website is run inside of frames. To validate that your connection is secure inside of frames, simply right click with your mouse inside of the frame and select 'Properties'.

How do I obtain my account number?
You will automatically obtain your account number after you have successfully provisioned with Talk America. Your account number will be E-mailed to the address you specified at enrollment.

How do I pay my bill online?
To pay your bill online, simply login to the Talk America Members' Area and select the option to add your credit card for payment.

Is toll free service available?
Yes. After your account has been activated, you can obtain the toll free number by contacting customer service.

Is the bundle service available for businesses?
Yes, some states currently offer bundle plans for small business! Please visit customer service and request an agent contact.

If I use long distance only, am I eligible for free member-to-member long distance?
No, Talk America's free member-to-member calling is only available between customers who are active on the following local and long distance bundled United Plan.

Why am I being billed by more than one carrier?
While it is possible to receive more than one invoice for long distance calls, you should never be billed for the same calls twice. You may, however, receive more than one bill for the following reasons:

a. You may not have switched all of your telephone numbers to Talk America. Add your additional lines now by simply contacting the customer service.

b. The calls may have been made prior to your local telephone company changing your service to Talk America.

c. Another carrier may have switched your long distance carrier selection without your authorization.

d. Collect or third party calls will be billed from the carrier the caller used to reach you.

e. Dialing another carrier's access code prior to the number you are dialing would generate a bill for calls by that carrier.

You may want to contact your local telephone company and request a restriction on your telephone lines to "The Phone Company", the name Talk America does business as in many jurisdictions. This will ensure your telephone lines remain on Talk America Long Distance. Your local telephone company may request our carrier identification code (CIC), which is 101-6746 or our Access Carrier Name Abbreviaion (ACNA) code, which is TVN, to make this change.

What are the billing increments for long distance service, and is there a minimum usage required?
...The billing increments are as follows:
...Business Accounts: 6 second increments with 60 seconds minimum

...Residential Accounts: Full minute increments
...*If you use long distance only, $5 minimum monthly usage is required.

What are the PICC and USF fees?
$2.95 PICC fee and 11.5% USF will apply.

Can I receive the invoice by mail?
Yes. with the additional $1.95 fee for the paper invoice.

Is Talk America long distance available for business accounts?
Yes we do offer Business Bundle and LD only plans. Online enrollment is currently unavailable for business plans; please visit customer service to request an agent contact.
